Support-at-Home is the Australian Government’s new in-home aged-care program. Launched on 1 November 2025, it’s designed to help older Australians live safely and independently in their own homes for longer.

It replaces the previous Home Care Packages and Short‑Term Restorative Care schemes and from 1 July 2027 will include the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

The aim is to create a system that’s simpler, fairer, and more flexible, giving you more control over how care is delivered, how funds are used and how you stay connected, active and supported at home.

If you’re not already approved, here’s a simple guide to help you understand how to get on the program and begin your care journey with confidence.

1. Assessment and Approval: Apply through My Aged Care to determine your care needs. You’ll be assessed and if you meet the criteria be assigned to one of eight funding levels.

2. Care Planning and Budget: You’ll receive a quarterly budget to spend on approved supports. We’ll work with you to design a plan that suits your lifestyle.

3. Ongoing Support and Review: Your Platinum Care & Support Coordinator checks in regularly to ensure your services stay right for you.

What you can expect:

Transparent, Fair & Clear Pricing

At Platinum Care & Support we believe you deserve to know exactly what you’re paying for, not just how much.

From 1 November 2025, under the Support at Home program, our service‐prices will reflect the full cost of delivering each support (including travel, administration and care time). You’ll always receive a clear quote before any change applies.

There are minimum service times and then we bill in 15-minute increments for most direct services (meals and transport may have different rules)

You’ll receive a monthly statement showing subsidy, your contribution, services used and remaining budget

If you’re eligible, your means-tested contribution is based on your income and assets. This is determined by Services Australia and you’ll pay no more than necessary.
